The skull, not as vanity but as a metaphor for the evolution of man. Transformed and deformed, Richard Orlinski’s skull raises the question of the meaning of this process of evolution: progression or dehumanization? The suppression of the mandible announces the regression of the man by the suppression of the language. The expansion of the parietal lobe limits the frontal part where the centers of the most advanced thought reside. This sculpture in movement challenges us on the meaning and the future of humanity.
